Bowen

What is Bowen?

Bowen is a gentle, hands-on therapy, developed in Australia by the late Tom Bowen, who took the principles of acupuncture and shiatsu and developed The Bowen Technique. In Bowen, gentle rolling moves over precise points of the body (most of them corresponding to the acupuncture points) can prompt the body’s innate ability to relieve pain, restriction and imbalance without the need for deep, manipulative or forceful treatment. It is a very effective method of fascial relief that can address a long list of issues.

Bowen can help with acute or chronic injuries or conditions.  Generally, the more recent an injury, the more quickly it can be resolved, but even the pain and discomfort of old injuries can be relieved! There are applications for every system of the body. Bowen boosts the immune system, lowers blood pressure and leaves the client with an overall sense of wellbeing.
